Fuel Leak ... need mobile diesel mechanic

just started today,
took ten minutes to start, first around noon when we wanted to leave the grocery, then later in the evening going back to homebase location

I did have a mechanic, i called him, he has stopped doing mobile and is shop only, wants me to drive there, bring it in, 35 miles
i don't like that idea
since it looses prime while sitting, it is probably something to do with the high pressure side to the injectors, the HP pump or the lines or the injector distribution manifold/block? what ever they call that thing, yeah it won't be cheap, i rather not risk a fire
i have road service, but they like to tow to the nearest shop, and my guy is NOT the nearest one, rather spend the money on the mobile mech than on the tow truck, paying the extra miles,
if i have to tow, i might go to cumins in Ventura
but prefer local service

going to call in the morning and cancel that appt, and ask for a mobile recommendation
i'm sure he knows other mechs, that do it, it was his living for years
but i sure would like some fall back names and numbers
service area San Fernando Valley, LA county, Calif
  • its not the main fuel filter, i checked that
its coming off something on the engine
will lift the bed, and take look after breakfast

i did NOT grind on it solid until it started, just tried it 7 or 8 time in that 10-15 minutes
  • Take a look at where it is leaking from. Might be nothing more than filter is loose. Maybe fuel line or cracked injector line. Put some cardboard down for now, so you don't have to lay in mess in the morning.

After you get done "looking" put those clothes in a separate plastic bag and wash separate or throw away. Those starters are big $$$ to just grind away trying to start an un-primed motor.
