I agree, had we known what we know now, we would have bought a MH with two smaller slides instead of one large one on that side. To late for us now, we got what we got. But my main point is that the problem has been mitigated considerably and we recently looked at a new MH with the new Schwintek mechanism on smaller slides and would have no concern buying such a unit.
I would not recommend anyone to buy an RV with the older, original style mechanism on a full wall slideout. It does work well on small slideouts such as bedrooms.
