I would bet I spent almost a week straight in the evenings working on my compartment doors getting them to close easily and adjusted to where they are even when open and closed.
I had to remove the latches, take them completely apart, soak in solvent and then reassemble and lube before reinstalling them. Then once installed to adjust the latching mechanisms to draw the doors in to the same depth when closed.
After all was said and done I was very pleased but to anyone else it didn't even look like I had done anything because everything was as it should have been from day one.
Mike.
One of my pie in the sky projects would be to remove the air springs and replace the hinges with the Pantograph mechanisms that were on the Eagles. There is pone that comes to the track, next time I see him I want to take a close look at the differences between his doors and mine. If it is a matter of swapping the parts I'm in, I'll be call RV salvage yards in a minute.
Would someone take some good pictures of both the door and the chassis mount locations?
