I've been slowly replacing all of my older poly piping/fittings with PEX. I picked up a couple of these at Home Depot to convert some of the hard to reach areas. Maybe you could of used something like it on that winterize port?

I have not used any of the push fit fittings yet, guess I'm still old fashioned, I do not trust them, and wonder what road vibrations will do to them?
