Concerning your desire for the remote start to also shut off the engine, these motors are very very basic. They shut off the engine by shutting of the fuel supply to the injection pump. There is a fuel shut off solenoid on the side of the pump that does this very function. This is also the most common problem for one of these motors not starting or dying and should be one of the first things checked. It's a simple electro magnet solenoid that lifts a lever allowing fuel to pass or when electricity is cut, it releases and the spring closes the lever.
