Concerning your desire for the remote start to also shut off the engine, these motors are very very basic. They shut off the engine by shutting of the fuel supply to the injection pump. There is a fuel shut off solenoid on the side of the pump that does this very function. This is also the most common problem for one of these motors not starting or dying and should be one of the first things checked. It's a simple electro magnet solenoid that lifts a lever allowing fuel to pass or when electricity is cut, it releases and the spring closes the lever. Let me know if you want a diagram or more info for it.
I have had to replace the fuel shut off solenoid as the engine would not shut off some times.
The question is how can you shut the solenoid off when the key on the dash is on (supplying power to the fuel shut off solenoid).
I would not want to have the remote start work unless the key on the dash was on.
