So, I went and got the RV out of storage today. The steps would not retract. I played with them and it appeared they were just stiff. Got the RV home and pulled the pin. Steps were free and the motor ran fine. turns out the motor is trying to push the steps out to far and binding and also trying to pull the steps in to far.
I have had these steps in for repair to Caledonia RV several times. They have never been quite right. I'm thinking of replacing the whole unit. Today is Sunday so I cannot call anyone for a price. I have read else where that the controller is no longer available for these steps.
Caledonia RV also attempted to repair the hot water heater several times. It currently does not work on 110 volts, and when it ranis will not work on propane (fires up but then stops after several minutes.
I think I will just replace that whole unit also.
Suggestions on places to try for a good deal, I have seen PPL pop up a number of times.
Keep tuned, the RV projects are starting again as the weather has finally gotten warm here.
We were thinking on a three week trip out west after Memorial day, but I think we will put that off and get these and other project completed before we go.
Some other projects on the list (fix Caledonia's repair on the front furnace (fan is rubbing)), install the LEDs in the awning roller, There is a small oil leak I have discovered when I moved the RV to the driveway (was not there last winter when I put it away), TV upgrade
