They say the sincerest form of flattery is when someone copies you.
On the other forum there is a gentlemen that goes by the handle of stkt his remodel thread
In one of his posts I noticed he had hub caps on his front wheels which really cleaned up the appearance of the front wheels

I asked him where he got them.
This was his response.
"Glenn, here is the link for those center caps:" Hub Caps
So this is what I started with

Drive through one little rain storm and it makes a mess out of your wheels, this was earlier this week when I did all the wheels.

When I tried to put them on by hand I could not get them on even, I worked on one for half an hour. Each time I got close one edge would pop out a little.

and half way around the cap it would sink into the rim.

I was just about to pull them off as there is nothing worse that pulling along side a vehicle that is going down the road and seeing a hub cap wobble.
I took a rubber mallet to the caps and was hitting so hard I though I would dent it.
The edge that was sticking out sunk into the wheel. Now the cap is sunk into the wheel evenly all the way around.
I'm sure it will look fine going down the road, now my concern is when I need to get it off to check the axle oil level I will not be able to without damaging the hub caps.

I think I will face that problem another day. I may have to put little slots in the edge to get them off. That is not a problem as they are stainless and will not rust.
I need to drive it in the rain some more to get them (wheels and hub caps) to look the same.
