Im able to (safely) get under mine w/out raising the coach but it helps to get it up in the air a bit (tires off the ground) to be able to have some extra room to move around when I'm under the coach.
It has air bags, and hydraulic leveling rams, with the bus just sitting (no leveling jacks) there is enough room to do the job.
I would never use the leveling jacks to lift the bus and then get under it.
