Funny but true story

We bought a used 2008 Tiffin Allegro Bay last year that was in very good shape.
The factory dash stereo started acting up so I replaced with a Kenwood that has Blue Tooth. Over the winter I also replaced the belt, did an oil change new wipers and other routine maintenance.
Shortly after replacing it we heard this horrible wind noise,
DW swore it was from the dash behind the radio, but I was suspecting either the wipers, an adjustment I made to the mirrors or something else shifting the wind across the front end.
After several trips the noise was driving me crazy, when I was hooking up the toad, she heard a conversation I had with a fellow camper clear as if I was in the cab.
It turned out the rear camera has a microphone and the noise was the small speaker in the camera monitor, which somehow had the volume turned all the way up.
  • Have done the same thing. Cleaned the dash and hit the volume control on the monitor.

I've done it twice but it only took me a couple seconds to remember what it was the second time.

I've also accidentally turned the intensity/contrast down on the monitor and thought it was off.

You probably got too many high dollar toys when things like this happens haha...

Interesting, the mic on my rear view cam only works when it's in reverse.

Roy B, (just joking around), looks like you have the fancy rig with that AC unit on top !
  • When we picked up our '03 Mountain Aire we had done the PDI and were ready to go home with DW in the car and me in the MH. When I started it the loudest racket sounded so I shut the motor off and tried again. I did this about 5 times before my wife came to the door and asked what my problem was. It was when she opened the door I heard the jackhammers breaking up some of the parking lot and then realized I had sound on the camera.
