I used to have trouble with my JEEP TURN-SIGNAL switch of not working the lights everytime and a couple of good squirts of WD-40 into the turn signal lever area solved that problem for me... Most likely in your case the 12VDC Headlight switch is a sealed unit...
The fact that your trouble started after working on them makes one thing you may have bad connection or missed something... I'm sure alot of daisy chaining of 12VDC is common feeding multiple lights from the same source.
Although most everyone has gotten away from physical frame grounds for things like this it still might be a common wire frame ground thing for those particular lights.
I would call the dealer for help...
