I suppose that's a fair enough statement but, my days long ago backpacking in the Rockies met my needs then and now I guess if you wanted to drill it down to basics: a dry place to sleep at night, inexpensive, and you can pack it away easily when not using the equipment. I've moved on to something else and that's exactly what a DP is-something else. Does the same thing we did 40 years ago but just does it differently. :)
