I can't comment on the ride of a diesel pusher motorhome as I have never ridden/driven one. I can say that the ride on my 2018 Miramar is pleasant and I have no complaints at all. I live in Florida and 99% of my travels are on flat land. I don't think the engine noise is that loud, even when mashing the gas to get on an on ramp. I have driven some rental small class C gas motorhomes in the past that drove like a truck with a poor ride. I think the ride on a gas motorhome has a lot to do with the model and how it's setup.
Twice a year we go to Biloxi so the wife can gamble. They pick us up from the airport with a large luxury bus. Does that bus ride better than our gas class A. Yes, but not that much better. It wasn't enough for me to justify an additional 70-80K for a diesel with exactly the same floor plan as our gas. I guess if I lived out west in the mountains or drove a lot of miles yearly that it might be worth looking into a diesel. I am sure the exhaust brake would be really nice in the mountains. We only put about 5000 miles a year on the motorhome so it just wasn't worth the price to us.
I still think floor plan is the most important part of an RV purchase. It took us 3 years of looking to find the floor plan that both of us really liked.
