Yes, it is. $2.959/gal. yesterday. I need to fill the truck, and I hate to think what it will cost! It is down to 1/2 a tank.
I get over the Continental Divide just fine with our gasser, even when towing the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I had. But then, the Class C we had with the 460 engine towed the same Jeep across the same mountain passes with no problems, as well.
I don't quite understand the fueling problems some have mentioned. I find the RV pumps at most truck stops problem free, and they have both gas and diesel pumps on that lane. I gas up frequently at a Sinclair station near the Famcamp that I stay at a couple times a year. No big thing there, either, even when towing a trailer with the ATV on it.
I guess, as usual, it all comes down to Personal Preference.
That national average for today shows diesel is .32 cents more than regular gas.
With my old 34ft gasser with a 454 I was lucky to see 6mpg average.
With my 36ft DP I'm averaging just over 9mpg and the ride oooh my god the ride is soooo much better.
A lot of that is winter pricing. It will stabilize with summer.
