Can we discuss pros & cons re gas or diesel? We're still looking at Bs. Some are gas, some diesel. We don't like the higher $/gal of diesel because it would offset any real savings from the higher mpg...

I'm not certain you can even get it from Sportsmobile since it's not on their current options price sheet. You can point to two put on used units that are now for sale. That's a pretty rare bird if you ask me, and not a really practical "choice" for the OP.
Your argument about Advanced is just nonsensical. They said they would look into it and nothing more. That does not make an offering. We don't even know if they followed thru and fitted one for testing. If you care so much, send them an email and ask.
