- DSDP_DonExplorerIsn't it amazing, California has the highest fuel tax in the country and it's suppose to be used only for road repair....have you driven on the California highways? :S
I know it would be politically incorrect, but whenever fuel goes up, you get all of the people saying the sky is falling and they're going to sell their RV. I always thought about saving their names and asking where are they now. Fuel prices are cyclical.
When we bought our first diesel in 2005, diesel fuel in California was $3.50 a gallon. It went all the way up to $5.05 one summer. Now, in California, the price of diesel is $3.69, just .19 cents more than I paid almost 10 years ago.
You just have to ride the wave of gas prices and don't panic.
I'm also finding that campgrounds are full and it's getting tougher to get a spot if you don't book at least 2 months out. Dang...all these old people going camping. :S Oops....that's me! - gsf35099ExplorerJust paid $3.49 for diesel last night here in the Austin area. :B
- hbillsmithExplorerI hope everyone is using the GasBuddy app that gives you the lowest price whereever you are. Dallas and Houston this week Diesel was usually 3.59 to 3.79, just about everywhere except GasBuddy showed the one nearby station that had 3.39 diesel. In Houston is was a car washand in Dallas a single new 7-11 inPlano. The prices GB reports are always timely and Ive never been mislead.
- rv2goExplorer III found this tax map to be interesting. Helps explain the wide variance in gas prices across the states
- poncho62ExplorerYes..the price of gas is going down, price per barrel of crude is dropping...........BUT, so is the stock market. If you have investments, you are taking a beating these days...so, whats better?
Just sayin'
