Any body ever use camco generator exhaust extend pipe does it work is it safe.
I have been using one for many, many years. In the Northeast they are required at most club dry camping rallies. Scusset Beach State Reservation requires one to be used regardless of who's rally it is, if it is being held in the safari field.
Now with that being said, I attended a FMCA rally a couple years ago in Perry, GA and discovered they were not mandatory. The rationale was that generator manufactures would not warranty their generators if a up-pipe was used. I spoke with one of the major generator representives who said that was the case. They said that the gen-tori had no back pressure, but could not tell people to use one type over another. Some people use homemade up-pipes using gutter downspouts or pvc as up-pipes with lots of back-pressure.
I would rather use one than have someone hurt due to carbon monoxide poisoning. I have used one since 2002 on two motorhomes with no problems. The Gen-turi has no backpressure.
