The fuel filter had been changed. And, yes. The generator had run. Not for me as a new owner, but the previous owner who had aquired it from a family member. He said the gen started, then shut down.
I'll check the hose. A compromise in the hose might explain the resistance issue. I'll also try the Sea Foam and starter fluid.
