If you have a 3 way fridge, running on DC will really kill your battery and severely slow charging. On our Roadtrek the inverter/charger puts out 45amps which should be able to charge our 220amp batteries from 50% to full in less than 3 hours. We usually use the generator to recover some loss while cooking/charging cellphones-computers in the morning, and rely on driving and home plug in for full charging.
I bought a clamp on amp meter and measured the amps going into the battery while plugged in to AC. With no DC appliances being used the batteries were getting over 45 amps. If I switched the fridge to DC the charging dropped to around 25 amps. It should have been 35 (45-10 that DC fridge draws), but I think a load alters the distribution of power, having a larger affect than expected. We have a triplite inverter/charger.
I discovered this after a really bad battery weekend with with two of our grandchildren (3&5) at Shenandoah Park. My battery status was driving me nuts until I discovered that "little fingers" had changed our fridge from propane to DC.
Have fun,Bob
