Thanks to all. I didn't know if the alternator charged the house battery's or just the starter. That clears it up. It's clear that running the fridge on the inverter is fine.
The solar panels sound like something I'd be interested in, but, the wife will surely have something to say this soon after the purchase. It would be nice to keep the batteries charged up all winter. I'm not about to remove them from the coach.
I understand the generator can be set to start up and charge the batteries when they drop to a certain voltage. Another camper told me they didn't have much luck using that feature as it ran quite often. We have at least a 8 month dead period before it will be used again. Any thoughts on this?
