I run the generator to run the AC yes in the summer. In the winter I just run the engine. It will keep the house batteries charged up. My residential will go all night on the three batteries I have no problem and they will also run our cpaps and the tv and some 12 volt lights with no problem. I will turn on the genset in the morning to make coffee and bulk charge the house batteries so the alternator does not have to do it which can shorten its life.
