Bruce... Never... Tent camper, VW Camper Bus, Truck Camper, Fifth Wheel, Gas Class A and our current DP. My sleeping comfort starts with bed comfort, temperature, ventilation, Noise, unwanted light. Proximity has never been an issue unless head bumping, which was always on the menu.
I did spend years on submarines so any form of claustrophobia is not on my agenda.
If claustrophobia is a factor for you then you really need to make a change... If not then take a look at your bed comfort, temperature, and ventilation, and light... While proximity of cabinets may be undesirable its something that can be adjusted to ... Tendency towards claustrophobia is not.
