- Fleet_ManExplorerReplaced my 255/80R22.5 OE Michelins with Bridgestone R250 265/75R22.5 tires. Excellent ride and handling.
- mike_brezExplorerSamson here.
- shawdowbossExplorerI put 19.5" goodyear truck tires on, with steer/driver on front/rear. Partly, truck tires are more common and easier to get fresher rubber, lower chancr on oing to getin 6mo or older tires. Also mobile tire guys are going to have truck type if I lose one on the road.
Also, we garage when not using, but even trucks can sit prolonged times, so didnt see the need for special rv tires. Not much different to truck tires to justify the extra price.
With the drivers, they are a bit more open tread. Drove 8k miles last year and didn't really notice any extra road noise. - C20ExplorerJust put 6 new Hankooks on ours and I think they ride better than the michelins that were $1300 higher
- fyrflieExplorer IIII believe an RV specific tire has an additional UV additive to protect from prolonged storage outdoors.
I put sumitomos on my class A (19.5) and they ride every bit as good if not better than the Michelins that came on the coach. - gboppExplorerOn our 96 Southwind, I replaced the Michelins with Hankook truck tires.
It was a good move.
I think Hankook is a better tire. I would buy them again. - jplante4Explorer IIRunning Yokohama truck tires here. So far so good.
- bluwtr49Explorer III've run truck tire..Toyo changed to Hankook on my previous coach and now Toyo again on this one.
Personally I don't get the big deal of RV tires and it may well be just marketing hype.
When the existing Toyo's need to be changed I will go with either Toyo or Hankook....depending. - tropical36Explorer

I am looking at replacing my tires with new. What is the facts on using goodyear or Michelin rv tires as compared to commercial truck tires? What are your experiences?
I like truck tires better and especially over the other two options, you presented for more than one reason.
I'm presently running Hankooks on the steer and tag axles and Hercules on the drive axle. All genuine Chinese made and would offer that they are as good as any. They just cost less and no, you don't always get what you pay for. - The_TexanExplorerHave had both on my motorhomes and now have truck tires on it. Have never had a problem with the truck tires, but have been screwed by both Goodyear and Michelin with their RV tires. Neither of these companies RV tires will ever be on my RV again.
