Things only happen when quality control (management) let it happen. I would definitely tell the service manager when I returned to complete the monitor work. You found the wires and fixed it great. If it happened to me I would probably have to drive back to the dealer for the repair and then drive back again for the monitor work. I wouldn't get mad and complain, I would just be informative.
