graphics on Class C

Was just wondering if anyone has replaced graphics on a class c? Husband is a stickler about things looking/being in great shape. The unit we are looking at has exceptionally low miles (<12000 on an 05) and the interior is perfect but the decals are cracking, not peeling off, just cracked. Wondering what kind of money we are looking at to replace. Its a Jayco Granite Ridge.

  • On my 2008 Tioga, I had a hard time finding them from Fleetwood. These decals are no longer made, and I doubt you will be able to find decals from 2005. You most likely can have them made, but I think the cost would be too prohibitive. I still think that removing the old decals and painting in new ones is the way to go. I figure that a private mobile rv painter would be able to paint simple, straight decals for between $100 to $150 each (not including removal). Still not cheap, especially if you have more than two decals on each side of the motorhome.
  • We would never attempt to replace them ourselves. Just wondering what kind of $$$$ we were looking at. Not even sure where to start to look for the replacement decals.
  • Take it to a body shop and have them replace the decals. They are in a much better position to replace the decals. You will need huge quantities of Norcos and valium to get yourself safely through the project if you attempt it yourself.

The other reason why you will want them to do it is due to shadowing. Once you peel the decals, the finish underneath will be different from the surrounding finish. A good body shop can get rid of that shadowing so when the new decals are applied, it looks "as new".

    Good luck!

I ordered one of the graphics from Fleetwood for $28.00, but after using an eraser wheel to remove the old decal, I decided never to do that again. It took me three solid days of grinding it off. I was not as lucky as some others who have removed it in one piece. Mine came off an inch at a time. I have a painter who will be giving me an estimate as to how much it will cost to paint the graphics. I would rather have them painted with a clear coat
The clear coat on the graphics on my '07 is peeling, looks like it had severe sun burn. :(

  • Best bet is to see if you can order in "New" replacement decals. Then you can remove and replace the old ones, which of course is no fun at all.

  • Just a thought, but also look into companies that do "car wraps". Your design is only limited by your imagination.
