Gray water leak

Leak at Holding Tank Offset Reducer 3" x 1-1/2" Hub T1041-1 Val-terra. There is a small leak where the 1-1/2 part butts up to the 3"part. I took the worm drive clamp off and using a hair dryer tried heating up the part that goes to tank but it would not budge and I didn't want to force it. So now I will try to fix the leak with abs and some mesh tape. Hoping somebody who has done this repair could give me some input.

Sounds like the repair I did and had to do so with one hand while reaching back through a narrow opening at arms length. Mine had a hair line crack, so I first put on a rubber glove and coated the whole thing with some marine repair stuff in a tube. That pretty much did it, but after it dried, I then used a one of those rubber reducers for joining to different size pipes together, splitting it long ways and working it up and around the pipe. Then used more of the marine goo to seal the split. Afterwards I worked two of those worm drive clamps around the rubber connector and tightened them down. That was over a year ago and all has been fine since. Besides some shorter trips, we did a 3500 mile excursion this past summer.
  • look at these, I had the same issue and cut out the bad and reconnected and no more leak. I was able to just cut out a section, but you might have to glue in a piece if need.
