Grease Fittings

When I hade a huge tandem dump truck(about 25 years ago), I had to be careful about keeping the many fittings greased. Now I have an 01 Holiday Rambler Imperial, and am wondering where the grease fittings are?

  • Our MH. has many and I grease them every 4 months. The ones on your brakes may take a special type of grease. It is fun to climb under and get messy.

I climb under and inspect my vehicles regularly. Just last night I was under my Jeep and found the driver side front tire cut with the metal cords exposed. I had just come home from a 1000 mile trip towing it and will be towing it again in a few days. That may have saved me a blow out.

    Pogoil.
  • Don't be surprised if you don't find any. Most bearings are sealed and do not require greasing like old ones did.
  • The front and rear suspension, steering assembly, and the drive shaft are the usual locations that need greased. See if you can find an owner's manual or chassis manual which will list all of them, including the type of grease to use.
