Cristina, a lot of the Monaco products (Safari was part of the Monaco line of motorhomes) have a back flush system built in. There should be a hose outlet in the wet-bay area for you to connect to and run fresh water through the black tank. The lever should let you switch from black to grey if it was like ours on our Monaco product.
I would fill the black tank with water a couple of times to give it a good clean out. If you want, you could squirt some dishwashing liquid into the toilet, flush it, then fill the black tank and let it sit overnight. There are more intense ways to clean out the tank but I would start with minor ways first. Using the coach will keep everything operating at it's best.
