Had my first blowout this past weekend

I always check my tire presures before each trip. Have done so since these tires were new back in 2006. I even visually checked each tire again while the RV was fueling like always. About 30 miles later, 80 degree temp, running about 65 mph, blew an inside rear tire. It took out most of the wiring in the wheel well. It killed the propane safety system, not sure what else. They were Kuhmo KRS 03 19.5" tires. The date code on the blown one is 2605. Blowout occured in the tread area, not the sidewall. So, i guess all you guys were right about changing the tires no later than 8 years. I used to think that was fear talking. I guess not. So, I replaced all 4 of the rears. The fronts are a couple years newer.

So, maybe check the date codes on your tires if you are not sure how old they are. If you are buying a used RV, check the codes too. This is a considerable expense to negotiate.
