We have washed all of our RVs (5th wheel, trailer, motorhome) with standard auto wash soap - what ever is currently sold at Costco. Try to keep a good coat of polish on it to make it easier to clean off the bugs.
When traveling we use those auto wash places when we can find a bay large enough. We soap, then I use a soft auto wash brush on a pole to wash while my wife is rinsing behind me. Then we use one of those detail wax polish things - just spray on and wipe off. Takes us about 40 minutes to wash and detail the whole rig.
Think there are many ways to clean and maintain your RV. Just need to find the one that you are comfortable with. Happy travels.
