Hankook AH-11 or AH-12 which would be best on a motorhome?

My previous post about prices of Hankook AH-11 tires brought up an interesting question. Some users had bought the AH-12 instead of the AH-11. It is my understanding that the AH-11 is made for regional truck use and the AH-12 is intended for long haul OTR truck use. Structurally the AH-11 is built a little heavier in the sidewall anticipating more turning and curb hits on a regional use truck. All things considered which would make a better tire on a motorhome?
  • Basically size is the determining factor. I have AH-12 on the coach, because my size was not available in the AH-11. Also, the AH-11 has a more aggressive tread, which reduces fuel mileage.

If the physical size is not an issue then the 12R will support about 750 pounds more per tire in LR H than the 11R tire.
  • After reviewing Hankook online the Ah-12 is now listed as a regional tire and the Ah-11 is not shown in 275 70 22.5 size. I may be confusing Hankook with some other brand I previously looked up. I will check with my local dealer when I get home.
  • When I bought Hankooks, it appeared the 19.5's were AH-11, and the 22.5's came in AH-12. As mentioned previously the AH-11 has a simillar tread design to an all season, the AH-12 have more of a rib design which rides very quiet in my view.
