Do they respond with the proper equipment, etc?
Hartford is not going to respond with anything. They contract with a independent ERS, someone like CoachNet, and that independent ERS contracts with towing companies. You are basically at the mercy of those towing companies who have a contract with the independent ERS. They are either good or whatever. One would need to know who Hartford contracts with to have some idea of quality. You need to watch what they are doing, and more importantly know how your motorhome is suppose to be towed. My Foretravel has a whole section in the owners manual on how the coach is to be towed. One has to be familiar with that stuff. You should know the distance from the front bumper to the center of the steer axle, and the ground clearance of your rig, and tell your ERS this information if they are going to tow you. They should give this info to the towing company, who should call you back and verify the info. If they don't want this info before calling someone to tow you, they are a crappy ERS, because the tow company need this information to know what equipment they need to bring to tow you. These contracts may change from one ERS to another when the contract is up.
I started out many years back with CW's RoadCare and now am very happy with CoachNet. I have no idea who Hartford contracts with, but if I used Hartford for insurance, I would still have CoachNet. They have always treated me right. I drove tractor trailer both over the highway and regionally for many years. I know what it is to be at the mercy of a repair facility that you know nothing about. As a truck driver, many have taken advantage when far from home and you don't know them. I trust CoachNet to see that I get towed to a qualified, reputable, facility, that can handle whatever the problem!
