First I ask did you read the second sentence. Second if someone got into the RV without me knowing I'd be pretty much screwed no matter what. If confronted out side from a distance you would have to carry on your person all the time but most likely have an opportunity to vacate the premises.
If up close chances are mace or something similar would be best in both cases. I guess I'm just not that paranoid. As an infantry recon scout in Viet Nam I carried 24/7....came in handy several times there.
