In 70 plus years of camping and RV'ing, I've never been in a situation where I wished I had a gun at hand. We also travel through too many states and provinces to deal with the hassles involved if I did carry. When the government was paying me to kill people I carried, but in our RV we just carry bear spray and have our dog on board for protection.
