Head lights/ running lights switch

I have a 2006 Fleetwood American Tradition Model Z. It's on a Spartan Chassis. The headlight/running light switch is the rocker variety that half way gets the running lights going and all the way turns the headlights on too. The switch will not turn off the running lights after use. We put a meter the switch and determined that the first notch isn't disengaging and the only way to turn off the running lights after use is to pull the fuse. It then resets to off. We tried brake clean and blowing air through it and it made no difference. The problem is finding a replacement switch. We've been looking around locally and no one has been very helpful. If anyone has any idea on where to find one I'd be most appreciative.

Regards;

Thom.

  • Very similar, my tech tells me that the part number comes up obsolete. I'll get the number and search myself. Thank you

  • Does your switch look anything like this?

    This is a typical "Carling Switch" There are hundreds of them. Get the part number off of yours and contact the factory to get a source.

    Electronics supply store. They should sell about 200 varieties of switches. If you need to, you can break it down and install a second switch, one for regular headlights, the second for brights.
