Nope, a heat pump is just a heat pump. Some older RV AC/heat units do have heat strips(usually about 5K btu's) that put out some heat but they are not advertised as heat pumps. The newer RV heat pumps are just more efficient and able to work at lower temps than the older units.
There NEVER was a RV Heat Pump until about 1998/99. Before that they just had RV AC units that you could install an optional 5600 btu Heat Strip to utilize to warm up the morning chill or evening chill. NOT to heat the unit at all. Rather than using the furnace to take that chill out, you used that Heat Strip. Doug
