- JohnMoExplorerI bought a Pirit hose a year ago. It was in service continuously over the past winter and worked perfectly. I pulled it out for the start of cold weather this season and it appears to have failed. My hose froze overnight this week.
I'm going to go buy heated tape and hose insulation this time. - topflite51ExplorerThanks TechWriter for the responses. There is one in use in RV park where I store our MH and I talked to the owner and he has had his for 3 years and very pleased with it, but he did say his brother bought one at the same time also and is on his 3rd one. Go figure. I don't currently camp in winter but have been thinking about going winter steelhead fishing over in N Calif. and will have to do something if I go in my MH. Thanks again.

Thank you. Green Bay would be a good place to test it. Are you satisfied with the Conrad line?topflite51 wrote:
Amazing all the off topic responses, I already know that the hose is more expensive. That is not what I want to know. What I want to know is if anyone has any experience with this type of hose? Good or bad.
Yep. It did not appear to work in a Green Bay winter so I returned it. I purchased a Conrad instead.
It passed the Green Bay winter test. However, the only time I was tempted to use it this year was this October in Show Low, AZ when the night temps fell to the 20s.
Instead, before the temps fell, I just filled my fresh water tank, and disconnected the water hose. Then I used my furnace to heat my basement compartments at night.
So I'm actually thinking about ditching the Conrad because it takes up storage space & I now have another cold weather water strategy. - topflite51Explorer

If the weather is cold enough to freeze the water hose than there is probably going to be a problem with the water supply system.
When it's that cold I use on-board pump and stow my hose in heated compartment.
Yup, me too….fill the fresh water tank, use the pump and disconnect the hose. With the heated bays everything works great. - topflite51ExplorerAmazing all the off topic responses, I already know that the hose is more expensive. That is not what I want to know. - past-MIdirectorExplorerI asked at Camping World if they carried the heated hoses and they said all were recalled. They did not expect to have them back in stock till after the first of the year. They are a little on the expensive side but like were we're parked at now only need a 10'.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIII also fill my tanks and work off of my pump in Winter but here is the same hose listing at Amazon. Currently out of stock there but there are 50 reviews from people that have bought and used the hose. Some good, some bad. Amazon reviews
