Heater vent ducting. Winnebago Adventurer

Hi
On my 2000 Winn Adventurer the heater vent in the kitchen floor blows little to no heat. The back bedroom vent is strong the middle one next in line is ok but the last one is basically useless. I am thinking the ducting may be disconnected or blocked. I need help with others who may have encountered this issue and where/how to access the duct work.

Thanks
Keith

  • I had a 2000 Winnebago adventurer with the same exact "problem". One of the registers had a vent that would close off, bed room as I recall. Winnebago's position was that the vent they installed could be closed but to close another was too much for the furnace and to not close any of the others. Never could heat the front of the coach. If the duct is straight through the coach take the rear register off and stick a light into the duct. Then take the front one off and stick a mirror into it. If the duct is clear you should be able to see the light. Otherwise use a small fan to push heat from the front to the back and make sure your dash heat controls are off so that cool air is not blowing into the front of the motor home.
  • X2 on adjustable registers. This will solve the problem, as you need to nearly close the bedroom register and bathroom register to get good airflow to the kitchen register.
  • We had a 2000 35U at one time. From day one the forward registers put out very little heat. Yet the back bedroom register poured out heat. I installed an adjustable register in the bedroom and bath. Then run most of the time with them shut off. That seemed to allow it to drive the heat to the front.
