Just jack the axle until the wheel is off the ground. If the wheel spins without much effort, it isn't a brake problem. Just to be on the safe side, start the engine and apply the brakes------then release the brakes. See if the wheel still turns without much effort.
And when the engine is running, listen for exhaust manifold leaks.
