Hercules tires

I'm considering installing Hercules H-902 225/70R19.5 128L (59217) tires on my 1989 P chassis Winnebago that came with 8R19.5 tires. Does anyone have experience with these tires and/or making the switch from 8R19.5 to 225/70R19.5?

btw, I purchased Hankook 8R tires a year ago and they are so badly out of round as to be unusable.
  • I believe, but don't have any way to support it, that the entire line is manufactured in China. Bought a set of 11x24.5 (8 tires) for the purpose of testing, knowing the country of origin was China. Lugged...28/32 new...wear patterns normal...miles/wear below average...but bead/sidewall transition area was a issue. Would not recommend any tapered bead Hercules, which is what your'e asking about.
  • Their mud & snow tires use to be very popular in Northwestern Pennsylvania many years ago. But on a RV, I have no clue!
  • Can't say for the Hercules but I have the Samson 19.5 {china} and they to are out of round and hard to balance, getting ready to replace them with the Hankook tires..

I put these on the drive axle before our last US tour and have about 10K total miles. So far, so good and you should be good to go with the metrics on your duallies as long as you don't go larger than the 225's.
  • The Toyo tires are getting good write up's, they are being compared to Michelins at about half the price. I just put 6 on in the size your talking for $2280 total. Mounted, spin balance all and on MoHo.
    Bry.
  • I pulled a trailer (semi tractor with trailer) the trailer was owned by a Chinese Shipping Company, it had Hercules tires on the trailer and the tires appeared to be new and the rubber was almost as hard as a rock. The tires were 22.5
  • Had 6 on MH, 2 were made in China, 4 in USA. This summer 2 of the 4 made in usa developed vertical cracks from tread to rim had to replace them. Hercules is a subsidiary of Cooper, which is now owned by a tire company in India if the sale went through, did hear that there was a valuation problem occurring, so that may have not happened. ???
