Highway 191 north to Flaming Gorge

I will be volunteering at Flaming Gorge NRA in Utah, but am hearing horror stories about driving HWY 191 north toward Dutch John.

Can anyone give me information about that road? I drive a 35-foot class A gasser, towing a car that has a non-proportional braking system. The rig has a three-speed transmission.

    I have kids in Vernal and have been that way numerous times and never thought it particularly severe. There are about 9-10 switchbacks and I would assume 7-8% grades. Of course, being from Texas, by the time I got to Vernal, I had already been through most of the Colorado Rockies.
