I live in BV and travel frequently between BV and I70. I'm a 33 year Colorado resident and 12 year RVer. So, I'm no white knuckled weenie. I don't like 24 in the MH. Tennessee Pass itself is not bad at all; however, the road between Red Cliff and Gilman is a slow, steep winding road on both sides. It also holds snow and ice after many roads are clear. The road through Minturn is a bit narrow in a couple of places. If you are in a car such as my Miata, the road can be a hoot if there is no traffic.
I prefer to do 91 over Freemont Pass going west or east on I70. Freemont Pass is easy. One steepish pitch on the east and one switchback on the west. I have timed it both ways and the time penalty for going to Copper Mountain (91)vs 24 is less than ten minutes in the MH and toad. I think the distance difference between the two routes to I70 is less than 10 miles.
