We've thought about it a few times. Probably the biggest challenge is 1 the price of land anywhere that utilities are available OR 2 the price to bring utilities way out to the boonies.
I guess I'm much more transient. I do believe if you search around there will be a lot of people that would not mind "hosting you" in farm settings that have some RV experience.
I do like your idea as I'm sort of an isolationist when I go in my RV and sites these days seem really close together.
