holiday rambler 1987

anyone know what kind of roof a 1987 holiday rambler imperial has I just bought it and the roof needs to be sealed around vents etc but I was cautioned about using sealants designed for certain roof types (EPDM or TPO)
Thanx Ed

  • Ditto on aluminum. You have to clean all the old sealant off well, there are probably multiple layers that are cracked and lifting.

Dicor self leveling is a good choice to use on horizontal surfaces. It flows filling voids and leaves a smoother surface surface that won't hold water. Plus it holds up better than a lot of caulk that begins to crack after a few years.
  • Welcome to the Forum. We had a 1985 HR Imperial 27' class C. It had aluminum roof and sides. HR motor homes had this material into about 2004.
  • Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 87 HR.

    Another option is Eternabond.

Post some pics of your HR when you get a chance.

    Enjoy your travels.
  • Should be aluminum. Either way Dicoror Proflex are the two best for rv roofs. Have tried proflex and was less than impressed with the horrible results. Never have had an issue with Dicor
