Hooking up the water for the first time

No need to fill the water tank but make sure that you input valve is set for shore water instead of fill water tank. Good luck!

PS...for anyone following our little adventure into the RV worold. We abandoned the 12 volt system, as someone said stop chasing ghosts and buy new batteries so we are. Hoping that is not required to check water heater and water pump. We will be hooked up to the house for power. ******second thought we don't need to be level for the water do we...lol.

Yo don't need to be level but many things in your RV require the 12 volts to operate. The LP
ignition on the water heater is usually 12 volts as is the thermostat on the AC. The water pump is usually 12 volts but when hooked to shore water, you do not need your water pump, the incoming water pressure is all that you need.

No need to level for water. Concerning the 12 VDC side of your coach, the best way to remember or determine what requires 12 VDC is life support stuff but not comfort items. Water pump, fridge controls, furnace and such. If your AC-DC convertor is functional it should have enough watts to run the water pump.

Right now I am looking for NO leaks. We do not expect any, but you can only trust the people you buy from so far. Hummm how far is that?

The only time I turn on the water pump on my setup is when I have water in the fresh water tank. My water pump ONLY draws from the fresh water tank and provides water pressure as required. Although the water pump is designed to operate without water at its input port I really don't think it is a good idea to power the pump up unless you actually have water in the fresh water tank. My water pump input port has no physical connection to the city water.

The City water connection when used provides the water pressure for my system.

Some water systems may be setup different but I think this is the basic concept for most RV units including motorhomes.

I would be surprised if anyone reinvented all the plumping, I agree about not working water pump without water.

You will need to fill up the water thank to check that the water pump is woking correctly...again make sure you knobs are in the corect position when using the water pump

you don't want the bypass open, you want water filling up the heater tank, if you are going to see if it heats.
