It would be helpful to the forum to know the model and year of the Roadtrek. I owned two RTs and on both the battery connect switch was a momentary contact switch. In other words, it did not stay mashed down when pressed. If the light is on, the switch is engaged. At least, that is true in virtually every RV I have ever seen.
Have you checked the voltage at the batteries? Check the connections to the batteries as well. Check the fluid levels in the batteries if they are not sealed.
If it is a newer model RT, the blue light will be an led and may be indicating even with virtually dead batteries because its power consumption is almost zilch. My best guess would be this: light on, switch engaged, problem elsewhere.
Also, when you plug in to shore power, does everything work normally? Did you check the fuses and breakers in the fuse panel?
