4-6 hours max 250-300 miles. Learned a long time ago, we are retired and do not need to be anywhere! 12 years fulltime. First year out we traveled a lot and what did we see? Campgrounds! Learned real quick to take our time and enjoy our beautiful country!
THIS
That is why we hit the road.....to leisurely travel, sightseeing and enjoyment.
Secondary/backroads are our choice of routes.
Break camp around 10AM and setting up camp around 3PM with pottie stops and lunch---perfect travel day
A few times we only traveled a few miles......once just 4.
Retirement is soooooooooo much better than vacation time. - fla-gypsyExplorer6 hours or 300 miles, wichever comes first with breaks every 2 hours.

I'm with you. What's the rush? - AllegroDNomadWhen we are time constrained, we drive till we are tired. i.e. 8 am to 9-10 pm. This is 12-14 hours as you cross time zones.
- k_jensen6ExplorerWe stick to around 200 miles per day. We usually do not drive back to back days either. We tend to stop for at least a two night minimum. Hubby recently had a blood in his leg. That being said, 200 miles can take us up to four or five hours. Lots of stops for stretching, walking around. But we also drive at 60 miles an hour. Better gas mileage.
- jpmihalkExplorer8-10 hours for us with 2 or 3 stops for gas and/or walking the dogs and stretching legs. We are not full-timing and almost always have some teenagers with us as well, so we usually need to do what we do over long weekends and such. We like to attend sporting events and tailgate, and that means planning with a lot of time for any breaks or events along the way.
- gfs1943ExplorerWhen trip planning, I try to break the trip into 150 - 250 mile increments. Occasionally we'll do 300 miles in a day, but only if I can take the next day off and not drive the coach at all. This usually results in about five to six hours driving, with a 30-minute or so rest stop about every two hours. I try to keep maximum speed at about 56 - 57 MPH.
Now I'm planning this year's long trip, and I plan to stop for at least two nights on each leg of the trip. Makes the time away from home longer, but as long as I get back before winter, I don't care. - sdianel_-acct_cExplorer4 hours actual driving with stops about 5 hours total. This allows for weather, construction, traffic, rest stops and fuel stops. If we drive more than that we leave earlier. We always like to arrive at our next destination by 3pm.
Less stress and no problem getting campsites for the night. - egh33ExplorerWhen I first got our first MH I could drive 12 hours a day with just stops for eating and fuel. But that was like 19 years ago. Now I do good to make 8 hours.
- Executive45Explorer IIIWe like to leave the campground no later than 11am and arrive at our destination no later than 2pm. Three hours per day, occasionally we will bump that to four but that's a rare occasion. If we missed seeing something, we can always backtrack in the toad...Dennis
