- derh20Explorerwe store ours in a close by covered RV storage facility with AC. Water is available a couple rows away. Cost is about $1,100 per year.
- wendylyExplorerMine is in our 30' x 40' pole barn that we built 8 years before buying a motorhome.
- Baja_ManExplorerI hear you about the cost.......I know that in a matter of years the sun will destroy my RV if not protected from the sun.
So......will a complete cover for $600 do the job of protecting from the sun and rain? I know it is a HASSLE to cover / uncover every time I want to work on exterior.
Is it worth the $7K?????
I'd also benefit from having a place to park another car next to RV when I want to work on it as well....especially during summer months when it reaches 100F +. - fireflockExplorerOutside, under a cover. I'd build a carport type cover if neighborhood restrictions allowed it. I can build a garage, but it doesn't make sense (to me) to spend more on a garage than the RV is worth.
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIWhen not in use.
Outside and start, run, and drive at least once a week.
Even after I had this custom built for the MH.
Door was measured twice for clearance for MH. But Contractor did not figure in the rise of the foundation and concrete driveway leading up to it. The angle up prevented the MH from fitting under the door.
She NEVER saw the inside of her storage building built just for her. :(
- luberhillExplorerI got several prices on a 28 x 40 ft x 15ft pole barn,,,about 16k not counting concrete floor,,,3500.00 site work,,,total 19.5k

- avanExplorerOh ****. You mean that when I full timed for almost 15 yrs, I was supposed to bring my rig inside from time to time? Nobody told me that!!! Course that was with a 40' 5ver and maybe a fiver isn't such a wuss and doesn't need to be inside like a Class C? :) :) :)
- Baja_ManExplorerConsidering a 24'W X 36'L X 12'T metal awning to match my 24x36x10 workshop garage. I just purchased my Class C and it was from an orig owner and he kept it garaged since new. It is in superb cond considering it is 11 years old. The SoCal desert sun will destroy it if I don't get it covered. I conidered a full RV cover and still go back and forth as to which I should use.
Cost for this awning....
Awning: $4500
Permit: $1500
Concrete: $1000
Total: $7000 - K_CharlesExplorerI bet most full time RIvers leave theirs outside also.
