How safe to buy R-Vision/Trail lite

I found out that R-vision is now defunct.. looks like Thor as bought the plant to build more motor homes, but does not seem to interested in building more of their product.
I was considering buyibg a trail lite.. but now would be concerned after warranty is up, and future support part etc..

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

  • Don't know where you live or what you are looking for, but my 2002 R-Vision 26' B+ will be listed with PPL within the next few days. On a chevy base with the 8.1 engine. This has been a good little coach with almost no problems. 64,000 miles. Great for a first RV.
  • Quite often, the key parts such as stove, refrigerator, water pump, A/C, etc. are manufactured for broad ranges of RVs, and are not brand dependent. Most RV dealers will be able to service these units for many years. If you look at vintage RVs, there are no original parts available any more, but they can still be refurbished and repaired.

I wish we'd kept our R-vision fifth wheel instead of trading it in on our current Keystone piece of junk. Although it didn't have many whistles and bells, it was a rock solid unit with very few issues.
