How to replace an awning strap for a Carefree awning.

Good job, but what a PITA! Mine strap just slid all the way to one side and I could grab the part in the slot with needle nose plies and pull it out. Poked the new one in and slid it into place. Whole job was less than 5 minutes. I guess yours was different by design.
